October: Apple Cider Bourbon Cocktail
The perfect fall cocktail for chilly evenings, this delightful apple cider bourbon cocktail is a wonderfully delicious and surprisingly easy-to-make mixed drink that warms you from the inside out.
Ingredients:
1 cup apple cider
3 ounces bourbon
1/8 tsp nutmeg
ice – I like one large cube in the glass plus crushed ice for shaking
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp brown sugar
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/8 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp lemon juice
Instructions:
Wet rims of 2 old fashioned glasses with lemon juice.
Combine sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg.
Dip rims of glasses in sugar mixture. Set aside while you make the cocktail.
Combine all ingredients for cocktail in a shaker. Shake vigorously for 10 seconds.
Pour evenly into 2 glasses. Garnish with apple slice, cinnamon stick and lemon, if desired..
Tips:
Fresh is best: Use fresh apple cider. This will make the cocktail taste better than using apple juice.
Change it up: You can use bourbon, rye, or apple whiskey.
Good with or without the booze: If you don't want to use alcohol, you can make a non-alcoholic version of the cocktail.
